Patriotic American Flag

Good evening, all. Here is another patriotic image; I just couldn't
resist adding it! I think it has great old-fashioned charm, and could
be used a number of ways: in bulletins, greetings, calendars. . . if
you're wondering when this was published, here's a hint: count the stars!
Have fun with it - Judy

Happy Memorial Day!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY 2013!

It's been a rainy one for us here in the Pacific Northwest - or should I say the "North-Wet?!"
Hope you're enjoying the blessings of family, friends and freedom this weekend.
Thought I would share a seasonal selection of images with you today, This first one comes from
a book entitled: "Defenders of Democracy", by Anonymous. It's a truly inspiring tribute to our "doughboys," as the publishers call them. Here is a link to the book - http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/40905  .  I'm sure it won't take you long to discover that Gutenberg is my favorite site to find wonderful old stories and images. I've spent a number of years now perusing their archives, and others, collection wonderful pictures, and reading material, and I'm starting this blog in order to share what I've treasured most. Enjoy! - Judy

Here's an amusing image from around 1900,
of boy lighting a firecracker. You might
like to use it in your 4th of July crafts.
